Phytosterols are cholesterol-like molecules that compete for intestinal absorption. This lowers the amount of LDL cholesterol (“bad cholesterol”) in those who consume them. They are therefore very important in heart health; daily consumption of this tablet reduces cholesterol by 10% and LDL cholesterol by 13% after a couple of weeks.
